These terms describe how we work together when you hire KG Editing ("I," "me," or "my"). They are written in plain language, because clarity is the whole point of my work. By requesting a quote or engaging my services, you agree to these terms.
Services
I provide editing, proofreading, beta reading, writing consultation, and related services as described on this website. Every project is quoted individually, and the scope, price, and timeline are confirmed in writing before work begins. My job is to strengthen your clarity and confidence; I do not rewrite your work or replace your voice, and you keep authority over every decision.
Payment
Payment is 50% upfront to reserve your place in my schedule, and 50% after your first edit is delivered. Invoices are sent by email, and payment is accepted only through the secure Stripe link I provide once your quote is confirmed. I do not accept payment through any other platform or method. If paying in full at once is a hardship, ask me about paying in installments; I am happy to arrange a fair schedule for larger projects.
Revisions and refunds
Every project includes two additional revision rounds at no extra cost. The deposit is non-refundable once work begins, and completed rounds are non-refundable, because the time and work have already been invested. If you cancel before I begin, your deposit is refunded in full. If something about the edit doesn't feel right, please read What to Expect, which describes exactly how we resolve it together.
Timelines
I take a limited number of projects at a time so each receives my full attention. Deadlines we agree on assume I receive your materials as scheduled. I do not accept rush dissertation line edits when a committee deadline is only weeks away.
Confidentiality and your ideas
Your work is kept strictly confidential. I do not share your documents, your concepts, or your ideas with anyone, and I never use your work to train any AI system. Your story concept, research idea, and intellectual property remain entirely yours, both the document and the idea behind it. I am happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement on request; treating your work as confidential is already my standard.
Academic integrity and ethics
I edit and give feedback; I do not ghostwrite academic work, complete assignments on a student's behalf, or help misrepresent authorship. I do not plagiarize, and I do not use AI in my editing. If you have used AI in your own writing, I ask that you disclose it so I can advise you accurately.
Your responsibilities
You confirm that the work you send me is your own or that you have the right to have it edited. You are responsible for reviewing and accepting or declining my suggested changes, and for the final version you submit or publish.
Liability
I bring doctoral-level training and more than a decade of care to every project, but editing is a professional service, not a guarantee of grades, admissions decisions, publication, or funding. My total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid for that project.

I may update these terms from time to time, and the date above will always reflect the current version. Questions are always welcome through the contact page.
