A decade of helping writers refine, clarify, and strengthen their work.
My Story
I've been editing since 2011, beginning as a Writer's Workshop Leader guiding hundreds of students through their work. I earned my BSE in English with a minor in creative writing, published my own poetry and creative nonfiction in a literary journal, and spent two years on its staff. I also served two years as a former NaNoWriMo Municipal Liaison, cheering on a whole community of writers.
During my Master's in Multicultural Education, I worked as an essay evaluator, reading thousands of pieces and offering constructive feedback. I then earned my Doctorate of Education, where I became a Virtual Writing Consultant editing dissertations, theses, and academic works across all disciplines. You can read my own dissertation here.
Beyond editing, I've been a special education teacher since 2017, working in public, private, virtual, and international settings. This taught me how to break down complex ideas and explain feedback in ways that actually make sense. This combination of academic expertise, creative experience, and teaching background gives me a rare perspective: I understand both the rigor of scholarly work and the nuance of creative voice.
"I provide actionable, detailed feedback that helps you understand why I suggested something. My job isn't to rewrite your work or impose my voice on yours. It's to strengthen your clarity and confidence."
You have autonomy over every decision. I'm here to offer expert insight, not to dictate. Whether you're finalizing a dissertation, polishing your novel, or preparing an essay for publication, I work collaboratively to help your best work emerge.
I also do work on Upwork, but working with me directly means no platform fees and no middleman, just honest, expert editing tailored to your needs.
And a small confession for my fellow word nerds: I am a devoted fan of the Oxford comma, and I was using em dashes long before AI decided to make them cool. My favorite emoji, fittingly for someone who loves a little polish, is the sparkle. ✨
Background
A journey across scholarship, creative writing, and the classroom.
I edited dissertations, theses, and academic works across all disciplines while completing my own doctoral research.
I served as a Municipal Liaison for National Novel Writing Month for two years, guiding and encouraging a local community of writers through the challenge of drafting a novel.
I learned to break down complex ideas and deliver feedback in ways that genuinely make sense, and I was nominated for Teacher of the Year. I also spent a year working internationally, where I helped develop a special education program at an international school, and I have worked with students of all ages who have English as a second language.
I deepened my understanding of how diverse learners engage with language, argument, and voice, and I began working as an essay evaluator, reading thousands of pieces and offering constructive feedback.
This is where it all began, with a foundation in literature, composition, and the craft of writing.
